"Give yourself a treat"

So many people have said this to me lately. So today I did. I put the post surgery bra in the wash and rummaged in the drawer for another, when I came across my 'pre surgery' bra. You know the one. Comfort plus. Underwire.
All day I have been treating myself and my breasts and my self-confidence. I walked out of the house with my chest thrust forward, breasts lifted and separated into their own cup. Ah, the pure joy!
Tomorrow I will go back to that horrid squashed-against-me feeling that the straight jacket bra delivers. I will feel like a breast cancer patient. I will walk with my head down.
But at least my breast care nurse will be happy.

Ha ha that's great. They also have bras online and used to sell them in their outlet stores.
  • I thought Oroton made handbags! I suppose bras are sort of like handbags - one for each boob!
  • I'd love to wear one of my pre surgery bras.  My little boobs would feel so much better with a little help from a bit of padding and oomph from the underwire! But alas, they push on my under breast mastectomy scar and my implant is stitched in place and doesn't push up!!
Enjoy your treat, it's simple pleasures like this which mean such a lot. Jane xx

I bought quite a few pairs of Oroton lacy bras just before I got breast cancer, along with boxes of hair dye! I donated the bras to Catherine House here in Adelaide; an organisation which looks after women fleeing domestic violence. I loved the feeling of them going to a women who needed something nice. They remained unworn up to that point. I have replaced all of my bras as I can't wear an underwire and am heading towards a C cup after being an E after I have surgery to match up my boobs later this month. :)
  • oh i'm so looking forward to that sort of thing again, still far too sore with the stupid drain in though
  • Lol....once a week treat. I'm wearibg mine again and so much more comfy. If it doesn't hurt why not.
