Girly question

Ok, so it's been almost 6 weeks since I finished my 6 months of Chemo. Feeling pretty ok in the scheme of things, halfway through 5 weeks of rads now and getting not only a little pink but a little tired also. My hair is growing back and is now a lovely shade of silver with dark highlights, I had to laugh as one of the Rad techs asked if I'd been blonde before chemo, "honey that's grey not blonde was my reply " but thanks and yes I was grey before chemo I just visited my hairdresser often. My all important question is when do your eylashes start growing back?
  • Here's hoping that mine come in soon, I think they have started but they are just not very noticeable yet still not mascara worthy! Thanks again x
  • My new eyelashes became apparent, though tiny, the day my last old eyelash fell out! Was very good to see indeed as I had not quite finished chemo. I started on Femara after chemo but it didn't affect my hair for a long time, if at all. I got an apparent change in my normal hair shedding pattern about a year after my hair had all grown back but it settled within about three months and has remained stable for over two years. It may have been Femara related, but also may be affected by age and long term chemo affects.
  • Hi @Kat09 , glad you're doing ok with rads so far. I'm only 2 weeks post chemo and I have little stubs of eyelashes growing. Wether they fall out again who knows. Hope you continue to do well  with rads.
  • I only lost my last remaining eyelashes about 3 weeks after chemo finished. I think it was another 6 weeks before they resurfaced. Started out as very itchy eyelid then suddenly...they all appeared at once. Won't ve long now. Kath x
  • Hi @Kat09, I finished chemo late Feb & had eyelashes growing within about 6 weeks. It started off looking as I was wearing eyeliner & then you could see the lashes. My hair is another story. I started Femara 2 weeks after chemo before radiation, & I am still wearing a wig. It is fully covered but thin at the back & sides. Women who finished after me have more hair & I believe it is due to starting Femara so early. I have read it causes hair thinning. You will have eyelashes before you know it, they literally appear overnight!
