I can't get Genox at any pharmacy in Sydney- am told it's been out of stock for a month or so. I won't take the other brands cos they have something in them that gives me a facial rash and bad headaches.The chemist thought it might be Titanium as this chemical is not in Genox brand. Has anyone else had trouble getting Genox? It's really not good enough is it. Tonya xx
Its used by men for bodybuilding. You will see their chat if you google it. They must be buying up large stocks overseas as they don't need a script there.
Its used by men for body building so there is another very large market for it globally which must be depleting stocks..

Unfortunately Genox is currently out of stock in Australia, which is really frustrating. I have listed other tamoxifen brands below, and their inactive ingredients. If you experience side-effects from one brand, I recommend you give another brand a go until you find one that you're happy with.
I was talking with a woman last week who had to try a few different brands before she found one that didn't cause her side-effects and she's really pleased with the outcome.

I know how you feel.It's very frustrating.I find this "out of stock"situation with Genox comes and goes.About 6 weeks ago I had no trouble getting it.When I can't get it,I either ration down to 10mg a day or go on a medication holiday for a month or so.I think this is a better solution than giving up altogether.I can't take the other brands either cos I get a facial rash and a bad headache if I do.My chemist thinks it's a carrier chemical Titanium which is not in the Genox brand but in the others.Anyway,sometimes even the others are out of stock too.Don't give up darl,you don't want to risk a recurrence.I've had a recurrence and I'm determined to follow through this time. If this business with Genox doesn't improve soon then I think we should kick up a big fuss with the drug company.

Have you discussed this with your doctor or breast care nurse? There are a few different brands of tamoxifen, and some women have told us that they were able to find alternatives to Genox that did not cause adverse effects. You may like to have a word with your doctor about suitable alternatives. Your pharmacist may also have some ideas. Perhaps even consider visiting a different pharmacy chain if you are in a position to.

Hi, I'm in Adelaide and I can't get Genox. I asked but they said I it was unavailable long term! So I had to get the generic brand. All is good so far. Lydia xx

I checked with the company that supplies Genox, and they confirm that the 10mg tables are currently out-of-stock, but they expect them to be available soon (they were unable to confirm how soon but it sounds like a few weeks, as Sarah noted, is realistic).
In relation to alternatives -- sometimes the additional substances in a drug (inert substances that provide a vehicle for the drug) cause problems for some people. For example, it seems that other brands of Tamoxifen contain lactose which may cause trouble in lactose-intolerant people.
If you find you are able to take some brands of a drug but not others, one or more of the additional substances could be the cause. Best advice is to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about which alternatives might be similar in composition to the drug you currently take.
