Food during treatment- what to avoid
I've read about listeria http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/publications/Pages/listeriabrochuretext.aspx however I'm not clear if eggs, particularly poached eggs are ok or not?

I got told by the oncology nurse that you only have to be really careful during the week that your immunity is low so I'm having my chemo every 3 weeks and she reckons week 2 is the highest risk week and weeks 1 and 3 arnt as bad. Also soft cheeses, deli meats, sushi and basically anything that has been sitting around for a while is risky. Maybe ask your oncologist for their opinion as I'm sure everyone has a different opinion about this. I do love my runny eggs though and hate it when they are so overcooked it's like eating powder!
