Food during treatment- what to avoid
I've read about listeria http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/publications/Pages/listeriabrochuretext.aspx however I'm not clear if eggs, particularly poached eggs are ok or not?

I was told by my Oncologist to steer clear of lots of things....but eggs are the worst! they must be cooked until almost dry and in my opinion it's just easier to avoid them all together....don't forget alot of sauces eg. bearnaise and carbonara have RAW egg stirred through them at the last minute and therefore don't get cooked enough....I was a bit cranky about all of this but as it turned out i could hardly eat a damn thing anyways during chemo, so it really didn't matter....better to be safe than add to the nausea.....best wishes - Tracy
