Flying one month after mastectomy

Hope all goes well. Take it slowly.....

 There is also Scanning laser therapy.. which can help soften scarring from surgery and radiation, plus for new lymph vessels to grow. I found it helpful.

Excellent, that is great Moi that you could get in and get organised so quickly.  Well done.  Take care and enjoy your flight knowing you are well and truly equipped for the journey.  Shame you have to be going to a funeral though.

Thanks Mich. Got an appt and had great physio who fitted and supplied ready made brand label sleeve. Feels comfy. Also got excercises to do. :) thanks

All went very well thank you very much for your helpful links. Thanks to the wonderful reception ladies I got to see a great physio today. I got exercises to do and sleeve and hand compression garments. Also bought my first real mastectomy bra and fake boob aka 'breast form' today and learnt some lymph drainage massage. A very productive day. Ready to fly tomorrow. Thanks ladies.

Where did you have your surgery?  I had mine at Charlie Gardiner and saw an O.T. who measured me and gave me an off the shelf sleeve and hand piece because I was to fly to and from my chemo treatment in Perth and home. 

I did end up with Lymphodema fwhich I knew I had but took a while to get it diagnosed due to living in the country so I was finally diagnosed with it in the time between chemo and before radiotherapy. 

I was fitted for a custom made sleeve after my diagnosis which took quite a number of weeks to arrive but you will be able to get an off the shelf one for when you are flying. 

Your surgeon or breast nurses will be the best one to ask regarding how soon you can fly following surgery I should think.
