First day of AC

Today's the day.  My first day of AC at Redcliffe Hospital.  I'm not scared of being there.  The staff there are lovely.  I am anxious about coming home and what it's going to feel like.  I hope I am going to cope.

  • Try not to worry. The first day is usually a non event. You don't feel something immediately. You will be given Dexamethasone for about3 days, which will keep u feeling ok.Then you may start to feel tired, achy, maybe mouth ulcers, perhaps a rash.Kind of like a flu in a way.Just come home, drink your 3 litres of water a day for 3 days, and just carry on as usual:):) Stay in touch on here if you have concerns.Cheers xoxRobyn.p.s. Don't expect to sleep much, because Dex keeps you AWAKE!!!
