Finally surgery
Well, it's "S" day today. It feels weird to be happy about having surgery but I feel as if I've been waiting forever to get this cancer out of my body. It's only been 6 weeks, but it's been the longest 6 weeks of my life. My surgeon says it will all be pretty straight forward and isn't expecting any node involvement or major change in breast shape or size. So I'm thinking -- lumpectomy, SNB, radio and that will be that.
Im learning things about myself too. I never thought I was a positive person when it comes to medical issues. Thought I was a scary cat - but no, I haven't felt scared or worried at all. I feel stronger than I ever thought I was. Maybe I'm wearing rose coloured glasses. Oh well .... Bring it on !

Thanks everyone for your wishes. Xxx
i just got home today. It all went better than I thought as at first the surgeon said he was going to remove the whole nipple and areola.. His assistant surgeon ( female). Visited this morning and said she said that a nipple is important to a woman and gave him an alternative incision. So, I still have nipple and areola. Takes a woman eh? Lol
had a bit of an upset after I got home with the wound bleeding pretty heavily so I had to get back into town to see the breast nurse. It was a "bubble" of blood that had popped. All good in the end. I'm absolutely done in now and so off to bed it is. I'm all "endone'd " out.
Cheers Audrey xxxx??

hi, I know how you feel i have just completed my surgery after waiting 2 months that is the hardest and most frustrating time waiting. like you i wanted something done straight away. everything went well for me now just waiting on treatment. it is amazing how different a person you become when something like this happens and makes you look at life differently and be stronger. I am sure it will go good for you and be positive like you said and your surgeon says. there is a lot of support on this site make use of it. Best of luck. keep smiling :)

Hope it all went well today. Even if there are little bumps in the road you will get through them. My bump in the road is that chemo didn't start today as expected, thanks to inefficient admin and my Herceptin authority not coming through in time. Now crossing my fingers it will begin on Friday.

Hi Cavemouse,
I didn't cry much during my treatment, just tears of frustration when things went wrong. Here's wishing you all the very best for your surgery. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ????????
