What a great name. Hey that sentinel node was interesting. And I am not a needle person, I cannot believe how freely they were to jab me last week lol. Unfortunately I didn't get clear margins so more surgery. Lymph nodes clear though. I also don't have the results of the receptors until next week. I am unsure of what surgery to go for yet, will decide by Tuesday next week. I have a wonderful lady doctor who is so caring I feel confident in trusting her and taking her advice. I still have to have Chemo though but unsure of anything else. I got a call from breast care nurse to fit me for bra today. Cannot believe my life now revolves around doctors appointments, talking about bc etc., it used to be about holidays, going out to teA, retiring and caravanning, how things change in just over a month. Sorry slow with answering. My surgery went okay but my margins are not clear so more surgery for me. Was your arm aching for awhile after lymph nodes removed as mine still does. I agree you are we are all amazing people!!!!! I am going to go back to work next week to catch up on some things but not full time and only until the next surgery. I talk a lot to friends and family and I always get tears but sometimes they Are happy tears as I can't get over everyone's kindness. We will certainly be doing a trip, not sure when as I don't know how long chemo goes for but I will be planning for it as something to look forward to. Thank you wend xo

Hi chipmunk I am so more positive as the week goes on. And today feeling pretty good about the next step as that puts me closer to dealing with this bc. I told my surgeon I choose life so whatever it takes, I guess we fight on. I am having a cancer free weekend this weekend and we are heading to cradle mountain (I am from tassie). So when I get back I will be refreshed to take on next weeks plan of attack and doctors appointments. I will post next week as I want to ask you girls about re-constructive surgery, chemo etc. Thanks for listening And your wonderful advice Love wend xo

Thank you michelle I am pleased about the lymph nodes as well so I guess that is a plus. I am starting to think get rid of it as quick as possible so I can start to heal as well. This website and your advice are invaluable. Love and hugs Wendy xo

I am so sorry you didn't get clear margins this time.  I think we have all posted at 3am a few times when sleep was just impossible with decisions to be made and options to be considered..  On the good side, the fact that your lymph nodes are clear is a huge plus!  Whatever it takes, Wendy, to get rid of it once and for all.  I have just finished chemo, and am about to start radiation.  It is all doable - not by choice - but one step at a time.  Somehow you cope, and your body goes into fight-mode. 

Keep posting and let us know what path you decide to follow with your surgeon.  Sending you a big hug, Michelle xx

Hi girls...

Well it is 3am, and I cannot sleep.

I had my surgery last Thursday and got some results back today.  I did not get clear margins from my lumpectomy and it was much bigger than thought.  Lymph nodes were clear.

So now i have decisions.  I see Surgeon next tuesday again after all results are back and she has a proper look at the results and pics to see if she can get clear margins this time or i have a masectomy.  She could try she said and if that doesnt work then it is another surgery. 

I was very shocked but am starting to come to terms with it.  I just wonder what this poor body is going to have to go thru. 

If another surgery works, then it is chemo and radiation if not then it is another surgery and chemo.

I know everyone has there own story i just wonder what your thoughts are on this girls...

As you have all been there before I feel i can talk freely and you know what i am talking about how this feels.

Not sure if they were all the nodes removed. Chemo has its days, some does good and some days bad. I found with the FEC I had nausea, and just generally feeling yucky. Now I am on Taxol and have different side effects. I had the pins and needles in my toes, so had a B12 injection. Had shingles of all things, and that put me a week behind with chemo, as wasn't allowed to have chemo that week. And now due to chemo an infected toe nail - another side effect that can happen. So you just take the good with the bad, and I dont let it get me down. I was thinking of u today, and hoped that your surgery went well. Now that your surgery is over, you will have a plan of attack..... To help you get better. And whatever the treatment will be, just know in the long run, it is to help you get better.
