Feeling good!

Maybe the past few weeks have been a little surreal but I am feeling good...lumpectomy & lymph node removal last Thursday and results today gave a negative in the lyph node and the tumour was quite small as expected.

Am enjoying being spoilt by one and all...relaxing by doing lots of reading and beingn for coffee and lunch! I could get to enjoy this big time so for the moment, I will.

The support has been wonderful and making it so much easier.

  • Hi Maria

I am sure it is going to be fine for you. I have taken strength from my mother who has had breast cancer twice and is now 90! plus my older sister had it 5 years ago and she is great. I am also taking time to look after myself and my surgeon and oncologist have helped a great deal as well. Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to ask for extra support. I am having massages, going out for coffee and lunch with friends and generally enjoying being spoilt! We all find strengths in different ways and sometimes not where we expect it.

Feel free to keep emailing me if you wish - happy to help if I can!

Take care and don't be too harsh on yourself.

    Cheers

    Sally

  • Hi Sally,

I was diagnosed with Grade 1 cancer which I feel grateful for and need to start Radiation in the next week but my emotions are so up and down.  You seem so positive I wish I was as strong as you but at the moment I'm not.

  • All good and I see my surgeon and oncologist this week.

Thanks so much for your message of support.

  • Hi Al

Thanks for your lovely message! I see the oncologist this week to discuss the treatment plan but we don't think I will be having chemo so that will be good...but if I do, so be it. My mother has had breast cancer twice and is now 90 with dementia and my older sister had it 5 years ago..theirs were quite aggresivce and advanced and required mastectomys so I consider myself lucky at this stage.

Have always said if I got it, I would deal with it and have adopted my mum's mantra which was...lthis is not going to beat me!

Good luck with your treatment too..,.you sound very positive too!

    All the best

    Sally

  • What great news and yes by all means sit back and enjoy. What is so good is that you're feeling so well to be able to appreciate it.  It also sounds like a great way to pass the time before your return visit to the surgeon (assuming there is one).

All the best and I will be interested in following your progress.
