Yes it is interesting, the chemo that has the highest risk of permanent hair loss is the docetaxel, there are threads on the forum about it. I had FEC and Paclitaxel(taxol).
I think we naturally try to be ahead of it all and in control, but what I learnt in all my years of this is to let go of how I think it should be and let it be what it will be. That was tough. I worked in a special needs School and my Oncologist said no need to have time off at all, that the reality is you have more chance of catching something at the supermarket...I never got sick from the kids strangely, I was just so ill with treatment. Taking the time for myself was the best thing I couldve done even if it was only 3 months off work I couldnt afford anymore. It financially ruined me as at the time I was raising 2 teenagers alone with 1 in VCE.
Most key thing to do is..put YOU above everything and everyone, I love that you are already doing that by not working and allowing yourself time and space to just BE. To think about a hobby or something else that you want to do. Nurturing you through this is the most important thing you will do. Hugs Melinda xo
