Febrile Neutropenia

It's day 5 of my stay in hospital. IV antibiotics and bottled water and isolation room. This site is very hard to use from my smart phone. More from home when I am discharged. But any other's experiences would be helpful. Kathleen

  • It's a hard gig that isolation ward.I was in for 4 days and could go when my neutrophils went up over 1.2 or there abouts.Watch tv and sleep is about all you can do.My iv cannula was in the middle of my right arm so had to keep it straight. When it came out I could hardly bend my arm. They had trouble getting daily bloods so resorted to my ankles and boy were they sore when I walked out of there. Hang in there, you should be out of there now or very soon.

  • Just saw your post so I am reaching for my old diary to see how long I was in hospital for with the similar problem from chemo.  Hold tight for a minute.....From what I can read of my diary (it's amazing what the mind wants to forget and the eye doesn't want to relive) I had 6 days in hospital under isolation until my blood count came up.  How is your count going?  The day after I went home I went shopping!!!!  I hope everything is getting better for you and you will soon be going home.
