Facial hair

I finished chemo early February and my hair is finally growing back. It would be okay if it was only on my head. I noticed that I have very fine down like hair growing on my face. I am way of removing it as I don't want it to come back thicker and more noticeable. Any advise would be appreciated.

  • Golly....thought I was the only one!

I assumed this was due to Tamoxifen which I started in Feb after my last chemo mid Jan. I am quite self conscious of it (my kids comment on it!) however like Deanne said, I think it is probably more noticeable because of less head hair!

Leaving mine though for same reason.....prob not that noticeable to others (apart from kids!) plus don't want to be shaving my face EVER! (Don't want to use chemical hair removers either!)

    Take care, Jen x

  • I remember thinking the same. It seemed way more noticeable than any hair I had there previously. Maybe it stands out because of the lack of hair on the rest of our head, at first. It seems to have settled and I don't even notice it now. I feel as if it may have thinned out by itself. I am on tamoxifen now and I feel as though I have thinner hair in general and it grows more slowly. I rarely need to shave under my arms for instance. Like Robyn says I don't think it is very noticeable to others. Take care. Deanne xxx

  • I finished chemo at Xmas, and I have noticed the same.It has got to a certain point and stopped.I really don't think other people can notice it,otherwise I would remove it.I can see it especially round the side of my cheeks.A bit like peach fuzz! Cheers Robynxox
