Excited

So just under 3 weeks until surgery. I can't wait! It feels super strange to be so excited about something that is going to cause me so much pain lol. Knowing I'm not going to be able to hold my daughter for a few weeks is killing me but it's going to be worth it. I'm so lucky to have my Mum coming to stay with us for a few weeks. A bit concerned about how I'll look after surgery but that's just vanity getting to me and I'm learning to look past it to the final outcome. Love to all xxxxxx

  • Hi Lauren

It's not strange you feel "excited", I felt excited every night before Chemo dose, just like a little kid was exciting - a day out to Movie world tomorrow lol.  Quite true, don't know where the feeling come from.

You are so good and brave your mum with you to walk together.

Life still goes on in whatever way of our formation.

    Take care and good luck

  • How are you?

I have to admit, leading up to my surgery was not what I would call an exciting time for me!!! I was extremely anxious about it all and it did not help when my hubby was so concerned too, and my kids were freaking out somewhat!!! I felt depressed to a degree because I was also contending with my Autoimmune disease which I had for 5 years at the time, and still have to this day. This disease complicated my treatment process for the breast cancer, but I got through it.

Today I am a lot stronger in my life and I am in my third year of remission. Moving forward with it all is definitely a powerful thing for your mind, body and soul. Recently I went to the 2014 'FOW' in Melbourne with my three children. It was truely amazing and they have put my photo in the current edition of 'The Beacon.' That was such a lovely surprise to be a part of the wonder of that night in May. It was inspiring and if you get the chance to go, by all means do.

Good luck with your journey huny and take care of yourself on your cancer journey. Just remember it can be a bumpy one! Lol!
