Was interested to read your blog. I am on Arimidex after taking Tamoxifen for 4 years. When I received the diagnosis of secondary cancer in a lymp node the specialist put me straight on Arimidex. I have been on it for a year now. I have had surgery, radiation and chemo in the past 15 months whilst taking the Arimidex (intermittently as I stopped whilst on chemo). I am nearly due to have my first mammogram and ultrasound since my Dec 2010 diagnosis. Of course I am a bit "scared" hoping that the radiation, chemo and Arimidex have done their jobs. Can I ask you how you knew the Arimidex wasn't working for you? The Arimidex give me heaps of aches and pains but I am struggling on with it (don't like the alternative). I would love to hear from you as I see my oncologist on Thursday and would like to ask him a few questions about this drug as opposd to Arimidex. Look forward to hearing from you. XLeonie

This is Kathy from BCNA's Policy Team. I thought I would jump in and comment because some women may not have heard of Exaccord but may still be able to help you with your queries.
Exaccord is a hormone therapy treatment for women with hormone positive breast cancer. It is a generic version of the aromatase inhibitor called Aromasin (or exemestane). Aromasin came off patent last year, so generic brands can now be sold.
Many women on this site will have been treated with Aromasin, so should be able to share their experiences with you.
