Everything smells!

I had insane levels of smell sensitivity for five days after the bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction. The smell of the gel they used on the doppler wand to check the DIEP flap was so gross it made made me gag. It penetrated the crop top so I could smell it all the time. I was pulling sheets up to my chin to try to block it out! And as I excreted out all the drugs from the general and after, I thought I stunk to high heaven. I was SO embarrassed. The nurses are constantly there, I felt dreadful for them & apologised. But five days later I couldn't smell a thing. The gel was odourless! Weird.
