Early Christmas present...NOT

I'm 7 weeks out from bilateral mastectomy with beckers expanders/ implants in. It's amazing how you just get over one thing and another crops up. I have been given the date for my 1st chemo...20th dec. I'm being positive and hoping it won't affect me too much and I can enjoy Christmas Day with my fantastic husband, kids and their partners. I'm hoping you all get to spend a wonderful day with wonderful people around you. Sue

  • Thank you for your replies. I am taking everything as it comes. When I feel well...great.When I don't feel well...I take it easy. My attitude has become....I can't change my diagnosis so I deal with each step as it comes to change the outcome. I think I've almost detached myself from the enormity of the situation...whatever it takes to get through. Christmas Day will be a great day no matter what happens...my family laughs that I'm always injured or sick at Christmas but have outdone myself this year! I wish you all the best of health and happiness .
  • I hope you are well enough to enjoy your Christmas. Just to give you some hope. I had dinner last night with some lovely BCNA members and one lady was at day four after her first chemo. She was tired but quite well. So I do hope this will be the same for you. Enjoy the day and accept all the help that you can. Be kind to yourself. Merry Christmas Love Janey xxx
  • As Hazel says we are all different with the effects of Chemo but I am sure having family around will help you feel better. Wishing you all the best for your Chemo and for Christmas. Take care. Deanne xxx

  • Hi Sue, everyone is so different with chemo effects, so I am hoping you are well on xmas day, so you can spend some quality time with your family.  I am due on News Years Eve for my 3rd treatment. Not that I will be partying anyway:) Hope all goes well for you, take care,
