I'm 66 and had surgery earlier this month and understand the SPIN that occurs when diagnosis of breast cancer is made. We are entitled to second opinions (&3if we want) and I'd encourage you find someone your Mum "resonates" with. It's REALLY important to feel safe and that you are important to your Doctor. My daughter has accompanied me to all the important appointments and I've never had so many tests in such a short time, but very grateful the cancer was removed so quickly AND the tests and research tells us so much. Presume you have the breastcare pack - if not chase that up as it's a fabulous resource. The posts on here have been fabulous for me and the lovely ladies accept and support even my sometimes scrambled ranting.
