I've left a message for a call back from the bc nurses. other than the fact i'm still draining longer than expected, all seems to be fine. My GP checked me over on Tuesday night, i don't feel unwell or anything. I'm tired, but that's to be expected due to anesthetic. I'm still awake for most of the day though, I can do basic things like making myself something to eat. I don't have extreme pain, etc. I am red & sore on some spots where I've had to keep moving the medical tape holding the drain tube as my skin reacts to it.
Everything else seems fine though. It's sore where the drain does in, but no more than it's always been. I sispect the stitches there have a lot to do with that, but nothing there seems red, sore or puffy - nothing to suggest any sign of infection. My arm is still numb & sore from whee they cut through the nerves getting the lymph nodes out, but not enough to stop me doing anything. I expect they had to push & pull a lot to get into those areas as there's no cuts to the skin there, so the pain is to be expected for a while I would assume. The pain isn't getting any worse though so i'm not really concerned about that at this point.
Hopefully they can just get me some more drain bags sent out & hopefully the drainage slows soon!
Do you think i'm taking longer to drain because i have this large lot of skin there instead of the lot being removed? The discharge summary says they removed 938g of tissue - they have left all of the skin & my girls are/were bigger than most, so i guess there's more space to fill? no idea if that's at all relevant, just wondering.
