Drain & drain bag after surgery
its been 8 days since surgery & I am still getting 200/250ml output into the drain bag. Is this normal? I change it everyday like I was shown. Most days I'm just sitting at my desk or laying in bed....
I had drainage bottles...and drained for about 10 days after my mastectomy. I guess I thought "better out than in"...it was a pain...but a necessary evil. Some surgeons don't like to go for more than 2 weeks as they worry about infection risk - will depend on your surgeon's pov.
The colour of the drainage fluid is key too - if it's going clearer (from red to yellowish to more clear) then that shows progress :)
