Docetaxol watery eyes. Driving me nuts!

Has anyone any suggestions how to deal with the constantly running eyes from the Docetaxol?
Started at the end of week 2 after chemo each time and is driving me nuts.
My eyes are becoming swollen and sore, and they look awful, apart from the problem of suddenly not being able to see when the tears well up.
In between bouts of constant tearing, they are actually very itchy and scratchy feeling.
I have no eye lashes.
I am using Refresh Tears Plus for dry irritated eyes, but they are not helping much.

  • Watery eyes and a watery nose have also been a bit of a nuisance for me, mainly my nose, which is so glamorous having it drip like water wherever and whenever. Claratyne has helped a little and after finishing treatment 3 weeks ago it is starting to ease, thankfully. Just waiting for those eyelashes to magically reappear now too!!
  • There have been a few posts about Docetaxol and a variety of eye issues ranging from watering to weirdo spots in your vision. I had  both. I'm assuming that the drug gives those sensitive tissues in and around the eyes and absolute caning.

Some of the vision stuff has resolved, some remains but, thankfully, the watering has stopped. I'm sure everyone around me is pleased about that too, I have a tendency to sniff.

Hang in there, ladies. It passes. Marg

  • I'm having the same problem, I wonder how much is to do with no eyelashes.what about hay fever tablets maybe.
