DIEP Flap recovery

I have recently had DIEP Flap reconstruction (4th Oct) and have had some set backs but my biggest issue or problem has not been the transplanted flap but my chest where I have had radiation in 2010! The area is hard lumpy and not very nice and I was wondering if anyone else has had  the same problem after surgery?

    Hi Ann, Welcome to this site. I also can't offer any suggestions as I haven't had radiation, but there are many ladies who have had the DIEP or TRAM because of radiation. Mich suggested joining the Breast Reconstruction group that is on this site. There may well be someone who has similar issues to you.     Hey Ann

    Just wondering if you are aware that there is a great group on here called "Breast Reconstruction which you can ask to join.  The girls on there may be able to help you along with anyone on here.

    You just go on to the main page and on your right hand side it says something like find groups and just search the above group to find it.

    Unfortunately I can't offer any advice with your situation I am sorry.
