Day 4

Wow what a week. I really had hoped for the easier experience that I had heard so much about. But here I sit, in bed, still nauseas and soooo tired. Don't want to complain too much but it's hard not to be honest. There have been three times this week that I have felt ok (I.e. Not sick and nauseas). They have lasted about 30mins each but I've held on to them each time. They have been little moments of heaven. Today is my first day without steroids. I've been told to expect a slump so I'm ok with how I feel right now. Just sicky and tired. Super tired. Can hardly be bothered going to the bathroom. But I keep drinking copious amts of water in the hopes that it is getting rid of the chemicals quicker. The nurse on day one told me to do 45mins of exercise every day. I have no idea how that could be possible this week. I'm hoping she meant next week because that would have resulted with me in emergency dept this week. I can't do this 15 times. Gawd I hope the Paclotaxel is easier than the AC. One AC down, three to go. Sorry to be so down. I'm usually much more sprightly. Hope everyone else is feeling much better than I am right now oxoxo

  • It does improve Janina, like the other ladies have said.I just checked back on my diary, and after day 7 I was starting to feel pretty good.By the end of the third week, you find yourself thinking"hey this isn't too bad,I can do it again no problem" and then it starts again!!Just lay down, until your body tells you it's starting to feel better. You will know when.Sending you a big hug.xoxoxRobyn

  • My diary tells me days 4-6 are the worst for nausea and tiredness. Keep up your nausea medication over these days. It helps. And just sleep if you want to. No one should be out walking in this heat. Next week will be different for you. It improves...... Julie x

  • I felt exactly the same way about day 4 of my first chemo. I remember thinking how am I going to do this again and again? Don't spend too much time on this. You will probably start to feel better in the next couple of days. Day 4/5 was always my teary emotional time as the steriods worked their way out of the system. Know that you will start to feel better soon and then build on this with a bit of exercise which will keep you moving upwards too. It does get easier as you start to get into the routine of one off week, one bit better week and then one really good week. You will not feel bad the whole time! I am pretty sure you will find the PAC has different side effects which will be more bearable. Hope you feel better soon. Deanne xxx

  • So sorry to hear that you are unwell, I hope your 30 min blocks of heaven get longer and longer. You don't have to apologise for feeling down, it's understandable. I didn't have the drugs that you are on, so can't speak from experience. If you can't do the exercises that's ok, just do them when you are able. Keep up the drinking, that's got to be beneficial, I am sending you a big hug and I hope things improve for you,
