Day 15
Well it's just on 2 weeks and like clockwork my hair is coming out. A few days ago I went and had my hair clippered down to a number 3 as I was getting head sores and easier to treat with short hair. It was such a good idea as it has given me a chance to get use to short hair, wearing hats, scarves etc. Plus it's easier to shed hair that is 1cm long compared to mid length hair. Another upside is I am loving showers and no maintenance. I went on Monday to the Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness centre at the Austin for a 'Look good feel better' workshop. What a wonderful day spent with volunteers that I can only call 'angels'. I then went onto get a wig, I was prepared to get something a little different than my regular 'do' but nothing really suited except for a wig that was very close to mine. Mind you I think I will only the wig on some occasions, happy to wear a scarf, hat, turban. Today I went for another blood test in readiness for my oncology review on Friday. Nurse said my blood is pretty thin and not clotting, so hopefully the results will be ok tomorrow.Over the past 2 weeks I think I've had every side effect listed for TC chemo, however it hasn't been that bad a ride. A lot better than I thought. Xx
