@Lynn65 I take letrozole. Based on medical advice I aim for 1400-1500mg calcium per day, ideally via diet but will take a supplement if I fall short. Vit. D and Vit. K2 are essential for transferring calcium from the blood (the source of the rumoured cardiac risk) to the bones. There is a lot of research available about the holy trio of Calcium/Vit. D/Vit. K2 for improving bone density.
In 18 mos my lumbar and femur density measures improved to 'normal' whereas they were early osteopenic at baseline. All due to meeting the Calcium recommended intake combined with Vit. D and 90mg Vit. K2 daily.
I partake in some exercise such as brisk walking, stair-climbing and jumping rope, with dumbbells 3-4x/wk, 10-15 mins focusing on lower spine and shoulders. I'm not an exercise addict by any means! The weights are in my family room and I use them opportunistically...a la 'I'll do 25 squats with 14kg weights in each hand" perhaps three times in one day when I walk past the dumbbells.
If you are on warfarin or other blood thinner, it contraindicates K2 so you should take it only with medical clearance. I won't enter into a debate or further discussion about this so this is my sole post about how Calciu/Vit. D/Vit. K2 synergistically improve bone density. Best wishes.
