Confused

Hi Tash. I've been counting down the days till op. Hate this waiting. Not that I am looking forward to Mondays operation, but looking forward to being one step closer to knowing what's going on. Will let you know how I go next week. Thanks for your support. Cheryle xx

I had to wait about a week and a bit to get my results.  Its the horrible part of being told you have cancer but dont know how much or how bad.  Its a tough week mentally - but once you get your treatent plan things start falling into place and your not in limbo so much.  Hope the surgery goes well.  Keep us posted with your results.  xxxTashie

Hi Tash Had my visit to the specialist today. I got the same response as you did. He is going to treat this as cancer as the ultrasound results indicate this. He does not want to waste any more time on repeating biopsy. So lump will be removed Monday 14/4. He is going to cut at 12o'clock area on my left breast. He said takes a few weeks to get these results back after op. Is that correct? All this waiting. Cheryle

Thanks for all the replies. Thanks Tash. Makes me convinced that my dr is doing the right thing by sending me on to the specialist. My dr was VERY sure that this was cancer. I will make sure this lump is removed for sure. Hope you are doing ok now. Cheryle. Xx

I had a lump, insisted on removal but went for mammogram and biopsy first. Biopsy came back clear but my surgeon wasn't convinced it was correct so he said he was going to treat me like it was cancer and hope he was wrong. He was bang on the money, high grade aggressive tumour, lymph clear, so have had the works treatment wise. Good luck with yours, I hope it is clear but don't be afraid to speak up if you concerned or get a second opinion. Tashx

The ultrasound and mammagram showed three 'growths' but my breast surgeon does this thing where she likes to read the films without being influenced by the report.  So she dismissed the first two as harmless and explained why

and then concentrated on the third which then i had biopsies on even though we knew it was going to be removed.  im satisfied with this approach but ive got a close relative with lcis who is just monitoring it -now in her third year  and a friend who has in her words 'lumpy 'breasts' so it suits me to go low key--im having repeat mammagrams and ultrasound every year so it will be monitored and that feels enough.  Surgery was fine and lump removed but cant tell and impressed no end as this helped recovery

I had lump removal then lympth node removal and now going to be doing treatment. I have keeptu breast though

This has actually happened to me twice. :-) 

1st time: Had lumpectomy, no clear margins so mastectomy with recon. 

2nd time: Had lump removed, then more surgery to try to get clear margins and save my implant. Found more tumours and lymph node involvement so more surgery double mastectomy with no recon this time, chemo, rads &  hormone treatment.

Treatment really depends on the type of breast cancer it is (if thats what it turns out to b)
