  • @Teejay it really depends on the type of Cancer you have, seems strange if its so small and unable to get clearance, is there more than a few spots? something else ladies consider is the size they are, as the smaller you are it is difficult to get clearance as opposed to being big breasted. I had 2 major lumpectomies and full clearance both times but due to recurrence in 4yrs Ive just had a mastectomy and let me tell you I was petrified!!!! but I am pleasantly surprised at the transition and reconstruction.Hugs Melinda xo
  • Hi I had had to surgeries to get good margins and my surgeon then advised to have a mastectomy and stated I could go for a second opinion. Yes it was a kick in the guts but I felt if they can't get in 2 then time for all to come off. I had mastectomy with immediate reconstruction (tramflap) in 2015  I have no regrets, It is a tough one. Good luck with your deision
  • Lump although I never had a lump the cancer cannot be seen unless under a microscope apparently.    Surgeon has left it up to me so am trying to decide.  He is happy to keep trying to get clearance but may end up having to come completely off.   Also delaying chemo
  • Are we talking about lumpectomy clearance or node clearance?
If margins are difficult with lumpectomy maybe its time to consider mastectomy but be guided by your surgeon. Kath x
