Chemo tomorrow
Hi there. Tomorrow is my first day. TC X 4. So it'll be one down three to go. In bed now 7:30. I now know sleep/bed is a stress strategy for me.
As usual I have over thought it. Had an education session today and in my head was yes I know, I know etc. Thanks guys for all your knowledge. However she did say one thing -- use a plastic fork if you have metal mouth. :)
My bc was intermediate for chemo and was offered the screening to see if I actually needed it, but I think if it came back as 1% I would still go ahead. Don't want to keep looking over my shoulder.
Big girl pants tomorrow. Love you guys. Julie.

Sounds like you are as prepared as you can be. Always speak up to the nurses if you're unsure. Sending a big hug for today.x - ZoffielMemberGood luck @Harvey1903 It's a crap situation to be in, but you are doing it for all the right reasons.MXX
- Harvey1903MemberThanks everyone. Ready to go. All advice taken on board. <3
- Doin_itMember@Harvey1903 forgot to add I always drink a glass of warm water & lemon juice every morning to help flush the toxins xx
- Doin_itMember@Harvey1903 good luck today. I’m doing the same chemo & I’m half way through. Drink 3 ltrs fluid every day. I tend to drink water & coconut water mainly. You need to flush your kidneys out. Get rid of toxins!!! Try & get some exercise. Even slow walking around the house/yard. I love gardening & it’s my saviour. I can feel Spring in the air. Yay!! I think the worst thing is to sit/lay & think about it. You can do this. Keep us up to date. Big hug
- Kiwi_AngelMember@Harvey1903 like u my oncologist said I could have chemo or not have chemo so I just did it for mopping up purposes and I didn’t want any regrets in the future. I had the same chemo as u and just about 3 months afterwards I’m just about back to normal - just need to get my strength back. It’s not the funnest thing in the world and everyone is different in how the handle it but don’t be afraid to ask for good anti nausea and pain relief medication. One thing I found I got and have never had before was reflux so I took nexium for pretty much the whole of chemo. Good luck and be kind to yourself. xoxoox
- kmakmMemberDear Julie, the worst thing about tomorrow is that it's unknown. The mechanics of it are simple. They'll hook you up, pump you full of 'medicine' and send you home. After that the docs can make generalisations about what's going to happen but it's so individual you just won't know until you get there. There's a few things guaranteed to happen but after that you'll probably fall somewhere in the middle like most people. It's no fun but you'll get through. Keep moving as much as you can, drink plenty of water especially in the first few days, accept all offers of help and be easy on yourself. We've got you!
Best of luck. I hope it all goes smoothly. Sing out tomorrow if you need some online company or have any questions (I had TC). Let us know how you get on. Hoping it all goes well for you and keep in touch with the health care team if you have any worries post as they are there for you
