Every 21 day cycle. First round was not too bad apart from dreadful constipation and heartburn. Felt not flash for first 5 days then picked up and felt normal again. Hair falling out from day 13. 2nd round yesterday now feeling a bit queezy though. Heartburn and constipation under control. Feeling like I'm hungry all the time which is false as I'm eating well. Funny feeling in the breast that's like the chemo soliders are attacking the cancer! Like little odd feeling now and again. Anyone else felt this? Anne x

@twiggyjumps yes, I got all sorts of weird pains and odd feelings. Sometimes the pains would start in one place in the morning and move around my head and neck area during the day, under my right ear and jaw was the main starting place.Part of it I put down to having only had the port a cath inserted a week before starting, so it felt strange too. I thought I could feel it in my neck and running down the middle of my chest, when I swallowed.I had a thumping heart too ( interesting to hear it was the Dex, no one told me that) I had strange pains in the neck, chest and upper back, and screaming pain in the jaw one night that never happened again. Very itchy eyes for the first two infusions that are now really weepy, especially in the mornings. I suddenly started waking up with very sore patches under both arms on the sides of both breasts, massaging helped. I had both breasts reduced ( and lumpectomy) two months before starting chemo, but they were quite well healed and hadn't been a problem recently. Some mornings they are fine, some they are really sore.Oh, and lumps in the throat too especially with the first infusion, not nearly as bad with the second two.Mouth feels like a cats tongue, all rough and sandpapery, not sore though.So yes, weird side effects.I ran all of them past my Oncologist, some he had an answer for, some he looked puzzled and shook his head, he had no idea about them.I must say they were worst the first time, each dose after was much better, just the expected side effects like constipation and nausea, not the really strange pains.Jennie

I ate continuously on AC (and taxol) as I felt hungry all the time and heartburn was much worse if empty. (Mind you toasted cheese sandwiches were pretty much the only food that tasted okay) Can't say I had the breast sensation...they were gone by then however. It could be a nerve thing related to your gut...but hey if the terminator soldiers are doing there thing ...that's a good thing.

I had achiness in my good breast after second chemo (mastectomy on other), so much that I had to have an ultrasound. Surgeon was unsure what it was. It settled down but then had it back after starting Femara so off for another ultrasound. She thinks it is the Femara this time. I ate all of the time too on chemo, craved salty food.

Thanks. Feeling really sick this morning. Vomiting and don't want to eat yet. Trying to find the right moment to take something to ease it in between nausea bouts.:( last time this didn't happen. The Dexmethsone has been reduced as I was getting very red face and heart thumping. - not happy Jan!

Twiggyjumps, so sorry you are sick. Ring your breast care nurse maybe. I'm about to start ac in another week or so and I'm petrified. Hope you feel better soon.Lisa.

Take their comments with a grain of salt. I had one neighbor who said to me ( oh lovey it could be all through you). Really! ! Saying that to someone who just been diagnosed. I laughed myself stupid at that comment after she was gone.

Hmmm well, you just say, Surgery was successful and Chemo is to make sure there is no cells hiding. :) People do mean well, but they just don't know or understand. We all get these sorts of comments, it can be exhausting, half the time I didnt answer because I was speechless LOL. Bit like when someone would say to me "OH So Sorry youve had a recurrence, gee twice!!! but youre in remission now??" WTF!!!! Ummm no I would say Cancer has gone thanks to surgery, chemo is to make sure, I dont say remission ever, call me funny a play on words, but if I say to myself remission it gives it permision..SO .I always say its gone :) xx

So I'm over people saying (they mean well I suppose) but they say "So how many treatments have you had! How do you know if it working yet" - this just makes me so anxious and upset. How do you guys handle this? X

My Oncologist ok'd me to take these supplements while going through AC and now Taxol treatments. Multi Vitamin ( which I always took ) Vitamin D, Co Enzyme Q10 and Magnesium. I would never take anything without checking that it is ok first though.

With any vitamins or supplements especially through Chemo, make sure you check with your Oncologist, they should be ok. I didnt do any supplements until after Chemo was completed. Vitamin D is the No. 1 recommended. I do magnesium as thats incredibly important as that services over 300 enzymes in the body on a cell level. :) Melinda xo

My local health food shop said take one before bed and may help with being regular. I need o take the coloxyl during and a few days after chemo then all good. Trying all kinds of combinations atm

I just know i did the AC, would have to dig out my notes. Never thought of a probiotic, would that help?. What about a good protein powder to boost muscle strength and immunity?
Apparently i could have AC, maybe onco being kind to me...handle AC well 17 years ago, will also be doing taxol which didn't do last time.
I've been having a lemon juice, olive oil, water concoction for a few years and that sems to help with bowels etc...
Holy crap this cancer shit, makes you take stock of your body and analyze everything you do and take.

Thanks Guys. Dragged myself on my horse for a trail ride with some good friends this morning even though I had a bit of nausea. One of my friends is a vet nurse. I overheard her talking about her vet clinic and just about every injured or sick cat and dog goes on dex and says it's their no. 1 treatment for most cases. Interesting. All I could imagine were dogs and cats doing backflips from the high - lol haha. Wonder if they got a red face and thumping heart like me before my Dr reduced it.

Helping a little now. All new to my system. Heartburn way better with 1 acimax morning and night. And a probiotic before bed. Morning I'm having a B12 and Vit E and/or berrocca with my porridge. Tweaking as I'm going. No period since first round so that must be all over - well that could be a blessing not that it was a problem before.
