Chemo finished!

hi all,

Well it's finished!  I did it!!!I had my last Taxel today and boy it felt good. No more PICC as well. My oncologist was away so the nurses were reluctant to at first take it out :( But the finally rang his replacement who said it was my decision! Yes! I have 3 weekly herceptin as of 27th Jan until Oct so they were a little concerned that my veins wouldn't hold up but I assured them they were ok. anyway I can always elect to have a PORT if it doesn't work. Swimming tomorrow - nothing will stop me now!

I also had my radiotherapy appointment yesterday and that went well also. I have 35 treatments ( 8 weeks with public holidays and maintenance days)Sounds like a long haul but I'm sure it will go just as fast.  This begins on the 24th Jan. Busy couple of weeks at the end of Jan but a means to an end. Again a great team - very friendly and welcoming!
