Chemo and Diabetes

 

This is my first post, have only ever read everyone else and found pretty helpful. I have an aggressive tumour and starting treatment Friday, a little nervous I am HER2 positive and having 2 types of Chemo and Herceptin, and having this first before mastectomy. I thought i would just take one day at a time, and take things as they come, but I do have one concern, I am also a diabetic and I know some of the drugs are going to muck around with my sugar levels. I'm wondering if anyone else has diabetes and if you have any info that might be helpful? I have been a type 1 diabetic for 39 years and looked after myself pretty well with no ill effects until now, so a little worried about what might be ahead mixing cancer and diabetes.
