Chemo and colds

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone's had a cold and still had their usual chemo infusion. I have a mild cold, no fever or any other signs of infection. My final chemo is this Thursday and I just want it D-O-N-E!!! I rang the chemo nurses who advised me to still go ahead with bloods & dex the day before as I may still be able to have it on schedule. It will be up to my onco. I don't want to end up in hospital either though. Can any comment?

    Yes I had a head cold and still had chemo but checked with the oncologist first. I think if you dont have a temperature and your blood test are good its okay for chemo. The oncologist will let you know once they have read your blood tests, and the nurses usually take your temp before you start. Hope everything goes well for you.
