- melclarityMemberCate you absolutely can, I have a friend who I referred to my Surgeon and she just went to her GP and told them who she wanted to see..then you can sign get all your records released. Certainly can do. x
- ZoffielMemberI'm now travelling to access public, bulk billed oncology services and could not be happier with the way I'm being treated. I feel they are seeing me, not my wallet.
- ZoffielMemberIt is that simple. Your relationship with your oncologist is no more set in stone than your relationship with your supermarket or tyre retailer. See your GP and get another referral--your new team can retrieve your records from the old ones.
You will have to check that your new oncologist has admitting rights at the hospital you want to go to for treatment (assuming you are having chemo) If they don't, they can organise it--there is a bit of mucking around but it doable. They will do most things to secure your business. I've sacked firm for mournful service. Get rid of them, you've got enough to manage without dealing with any professional who give you the irrits. - brightspaceMemberBig (((huggs)))
Start with your talking to gp/family member /friend
Hopefully have them with you when you see gp
High Anxiety from lack of progress with treatment needs to reduced
You are entitled to ask for another opinion
clearly list reasons why you are disappointed
All the best - iserbrownMemberHi Cate - I haven't a clue but to say logic would say start with your GP. Have you discussed this with your Breast care nurse or a Counsellor? This is about your health and I do hope that you find peace in your treatment. Take care xx
