Catch up

Hello all

Been a while, just had a read of messages and thought I'd comment.  Two years past chemo, 14 mnths (I think) past hercepton.  Given up on "getting back to normal", still working out what is the "new normal"  Just read about the fatigue comments, and have to agree tiredness and fatigue are two different things!!  How can you walk (or sit) around most of the day, feeling like your in a sci fi movie ie too much gravity and every movement is heavy and slow, then go to bed and NOT SLEEP!!!  And yes doctors don't seem to get it.  Still very rashy, no muscle weekness though, thank goodness.  Dry skin, hair, mouth still.  Seem to be allergic to a lot now too... creams, perfumes, body washes i've used for years, all binned now.  Just dermaveen.  My new hair is acting like a two year olds too (I got cockys every morning).  It has come back straight were I used to have wave - still getting to know it.  After 40 years of enjoying fishing in boat, I now get seasick...really seasick ...  spew, wet my pants seasick.... lovely.  Oh well.  I did not get nausea during chemo, and yet now I am prone to nausea??  Doesn't take much to upset my stomach these days.  Ears still get to me, dizziness, ear aches all mild but annoying.  I now know when it is going to rain complements to my bones, and winter sux, the cold bites deep.   Feet hands still not working, and I am a couch potato this weather.  Don't know if I'm tired cause I'm lazy or whatever.  Walking is not enjoyable anymore so have trouble forcing myself.  Had a good regime in the back yard pool for summer but haven't got to a heated one yet this winter.  If I eat really really healthily (as in about 4-6 vege juices a day)I have a little more energy, but blew my juicer up a month ago and haven't brought a new one.  So back on vitamins... thats the trouble when your tired or fatigued it all just gets harder.  So whinge, whinge ... but really still improving, alive, no longer stress so much about cancer returning.  Thoughts to all the newbies, Pam

  • Really makes you think about the strain on our bodies. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I will lose my seasickness. Kath :-)
