So sorry PaulaN, I know exactly where you are coming from.
My sister, whom I have always been quite close with picked a fight over something she felt I implied told me I needed to grow up & hung up on me & I have not heard from her since.
Of all things, she felt I 'implied' she wasn't welcome at my house because she doesn't like my dog!!! Can you believe it?? I wasn't even given an opportunity to say Im sorry if you felt I implied that because it certainly wasn't meant that way, you are welcome at my house anytime.
I stared at the phone thinking did that just really happen for 10 minutes before thinking to myself let it go you have more important things to deal with right now.
People I barely know on the other hand have been a tower of strength for me, they have gone above & beyond anything. It lends strength to the saying you can choose your friends but not your family...
