Hello ladies! Just putting my latest stuff on the blog:) On Monday I had to go into hospital and have a hysteroscopy and D&C.I won't get the results for a week or so,but the doctor said it all looked good,so I'm pretty sure my spotting was because of Tamoxifen.This morning I had my long awaited appointment with the doctor at the osteoporosis clinc at RPA in Sydney. It was very informative,and it's times like these that I am glad to be living in inner west Sydney!(only times like these!) Because of my poor bone density,I am starting on Denosumab injections.They are 6 monthly,so that sounds ok.I have to get a full dental checkup before I start,so I have booked that in for next week. The doctor highlighted the importance of eating enough calcium ,and gave me lots of reading material.He said brisk walking is very good,so I must make sure to keep I t up,even through the cold winter days!So I have had a busy week,but a good one I think.I have my surgeons checkup,in 2 weeks,and my first mammogram and ultrasound since diagnosis.I hope that you are all travelling as well as you can.Cheers xox Robyn. Oh and by the way,I have my first haircut(trim) booked in for next Tuesday!

Good to hear your news. Great that you are having your first haircut! Just had my second trim and I think I almost have a 'style' now rather than just very short hair! Still loving the low maintenance of short uncoloured hair so no plans for me to grow it too much longer. I have some chemo curls on top! Hope your results come back ok. Good to hear brisk walking is ok and that I should not feel guilty about eating my yoghurt and cheese! :) Deanne xxx

Have been waiting to read your post after seeing your consultant at the Osteoporosis Clinic - it all sounds like good news. So glad for you and good luck with your results. Since being on Prolia injections (Denosumab) I have had a very good result, with bone loss down from 127 to 90 after the first 6 months. (Normal is 30-115). I have had 2 injections so far, and will have the 3rd next month. One of the side effects is hot flushes at night, and these were worst during the initial 6 months - so don't blame it on everything else (as I did!) - it is quite normal! As I am older than you are and post menopausal, I had forgotten how horrible they were, and changed tops 2-3 times a night at first. However, like everything else they settle down eventually and the result is worth it. Will be having a Bone Densitometry Scan next month and will find out the actual benefit on the bone printout. Will let you know. Walking - do I get tired of the treadmill, but it has become part of life, and 35 mins a day isn't a lot to ask. Prefer walking on the beach, but not always possible and harder to keep up the pace! Still perservering with this as an everyday routine. Otherwise lots of calcium foods. It seems strange getting a haircut with such short hair,but it looks messy in the morning,and I liked it before this started to happen.I have no intention of colouring my hair ever again.My husband keeps saying things like,' get a colour if you want too'. but I don't want to!!I think he would like me to color it again ;)Hope your lymphodema is under control Deanne.xoxRobyn

My arm was only showing a very small increase in size by the time I started treatment due to the effectiveness of the water aerobics and self massage. This should be reduced to normal when I finish treatment next Tuesday, I hope. Have learnt heaps at the clinic. Will post about it when I finish treatment next week. My hair felt better and seemed to thicken up after a trim. It got rid of the fluffy look! :)
