Blown up

Hello my pink ladies

Just wondering if anyone else has had any long term swollen legs and ankles and now my arm on the surgery side.  It has been both legs for a good week now where sometimes they get so swollen I have no shape of a knee cap left.  They hurt in that I can't massage them and have trouble walking on them sometimes.

i had my surgeries back in Dec/Jan and are now 3 weeks post my final of 6 chemos and due to start my Radiotherapy on Wednesday.

This is not something I have read a blog about on this website so wondering if anyone else has suffered the same and the outcome please, thanks.

Wishing you all positive thoughts and healing vibes for all who are still needing them.

LOL

Mich xoxo

  • What chemo did you have?

Did you have to take Dex around your chemo? If yes then you were probably on Taxotere and it can cause swelling in the limbs etc, and therfore can probably be the cause becasue you are only 3 weeks post chemo, this would be the time you would be having your next cycle if still on it, so it is a possible cause, ring your oncologist - THis is IMPORTANT you MUST tell them as this needs to be treated (they may put you on something maybe evn on dex for a few days) as the swelling can also happen internally around your heart and lungs and that can be an emergency.

I was told I have to tell my terating team if I get ANY swelling anywhere (even if it is the beginnings of lymphodema in my surgery side arm, so I am passing this warning on to you (thak you Dr. Ali, my oncologist :o))
