BLOOD TEST RESULTS

hI i, Firstly I have been low key lately hope everyone has been ok. I had my blood test and got results yesterday. WCC is up . My Cholestrol is also high which is  a blow. I have another test in 8 weeks. I was Hormone receptor negative with my cancer , probably triple negative.  How high is high enough to be doing scan? Does anyone have an opinion My Gp wants to wait till nest test to investigate. Any way I hope you are all doing well and have been progressing. Hugs to you all Love Peta

    Inam assuming WCC to be a white cell count and really would not panic right now as that could be anything. It need not be cancer related...

    Can be caused by a mild food allergy even... Couple of months will give you a better understanding of how bloods are doing and I keep on being told by Oncologists and breast care nurses that in the world of breast cancer couple of months of break or delay in treatment even do not make a difference.

    Remember that scans on their own (as is) are harmfull so doing too many can invite not just recurrence but other cancers and I am sure that is all the GP is trying to do - protect you from potentially greater harm.

    We get radiated and poisoned enough as is during active treatment that the body is needs a break so as hard as it sounds I would just hang in there and concentrate on tweaking the diet these few weeks to lower the cholesterol and to try and boost the immune system.

    I know it is easier said than done but just keep on remembering that scans = tissue being radiated = increased risk of cancers so conservative approach at this stage surely is going to be better for you staying cancer free long term.

    Hi PETA, what is WCC? I'm also wondering what stage you are at? Regarding your GP do you mean he/she wants to wait to re test WCC? I'm also a triple negative.....finished all treatment three weeks ago (chemo and Radiothreaphy) and got the ok to get away in our caravan.....so here we are holidaying at Nambucca. 

    I feel silly not knowing what WCC is but I'm forever learning new things from this site.
