Beta Blockers may have additional benefit

I’ll try and find more on this but from this morning’s news:

Australian researchers have made a major medical breakthrough that could extend the lives of people battling breast cancer.

Scientists at Monash University have found that everyday anti-stress drugs, called beta blockers, could slow the spread of the deadly disease in the body

  • It's great isn't it @arpie and @Afraser that a tablet that we need to take because of side-effects of treatment has some ultimate benefits! I am on a 50mg tablet twice a day too !! There is indeed a silver lining to all of this BC drama! Fingers crossed anyway...I hope the positive scientific findings extend to ALL beta-blockers...take care  xxxx
  • I’ve been on two a day (50mg) almost as long as I’ve been post diagnosis - an arrhythmia as a side effect! I am much in favour of those little pills which have been far more effective than cardioversion or other more intrusive medication and now it may be that I have double the reason to be thankful I am on them!
  • Oh goodie!!  I am already on a half a tablet following major heart palpitations last year!!  Maybe I'll up the dose to a whole one!!  ;)  (Only kidding!)
