Back on the roller coaster

Well, things have gone downhill after feeling so "up" for s long but as we know this is the burden of BC. I have Er for my big MDC day, doing the walk and then a big lunch at home. Last week I started to experience some severe nerve pain so by Sunday couldn't even walk. Went in for regulat treatment and ended up staying for lots of imaging. Doc thinks its nerves being crushed......,ouchie. Home now feeling frustrated as just want to be normal again. Taking lots of pain relief but at least not too dopey. Also, we have a new puppy which is enough to give one a big happy smile!!! So this week will be interesting to find best path to take.

  • Hi Josie I too am experiencing pain from my mets- to my middle and lower spine. I find Lyrica gives me some relief when the pain is unbearable. I hate what this bloody disease does to our bodies and stops us from being as active as we used to be. I'm also learning mindfulness for pain control and hope that I'll be able to master the technique to help with pain management. I've been knocked down my a gastro winter bug this week. Not much fun as I'd just been congratulating myself on how well I'd been since finishing chemo 12 weeks ago. Well at least I'm walking.

  • I'm so sorry to hear you are in pain. I hope you have a plan of action to manage the pain. It's hard to learn how to enjoy the roller coaster sometimes - maybe just close your eyes, out your hands in the air and scream!

  • Hey Josie

Can I say you look absolutely glowing in your profile pic.  That colour obviously suits you.

I am sorry you have to go through this pain.  As I know pain absolutely sucks and is so debilitating.

Congrats on the doing the walk and on having such a wonderful thing in your life as a new puppy.  That will keep you smiling and I am sure as active as you can be when you can.  I have my beautiful old girl who also has cancer and she has been my velcro dog and I don't know how I would have got through without her as she is so special.  They know, they sense things and give us unconditional love every day.  We are lucky to have our pups.  What sort of pup do you have.

I am hoping for as good as can be expected outcome from your latest setback.

Sending you good healing vibes, lots of love, Mich xoxoxo
