Arimidex/Anastrozole

Any one having trouble with this medication...I have had an itchy rash on my abdomen, hips and lower legs and a little on my face...starting to drive me crazy...I have been given a cream but it doesn't seem to be helping. 

Also have had achy joints if I stay still for too long and hot flushes.  Been on it for about 6 months and it's not improving.  

Is there any other alternative???

    Hi Shell, I have been on Arimidex for 10 months, no rash, but I do have the aches and pains. My hot flushes have intensified as well. I was told by the oncologist to not use brand substitutes. I always accept the generic brand for medicines. The oncologist said Arimidex was what they ran tests on and Arimidex was the drug I should be taking. I decided I would follow his instructions for this drug, just in case there was anything in it. I personally think there would be no difference, who knows?     Hi Shell, you are a trooper to put up with all that for 6 months! I was on Tamoxifen and there was one time when I was given a different brand and I broke out in a facial rash.It had something to do with a different carrier chemical. Perhaps you could try a different brand of Arimadex?There is also another similar drug called Femara- could you talk to your oncologist?You've suffered long enough darl.Tonya xx
