- BenmamyMemberThank you, Natasha. I was so glad(should not but) to find you too. The drain....our little bestie... I am happy that you can get rid of it soon. All the best to you, and Merry Christmas! I might see you here soon ;-)
- BenmamyMemberHi, Natasha I just had a single mastectomy and 3 nodes out about 10 days ago. One of them was positive so I had 26 nodes removal 4 days ago. Was looking for some post surgery posts and comments and came across your post. As you have mentioned, it has been sooooooo uncomfortable and sore. Especially underarm... Feels like a hard brick is stuck in my underarm... I am scared too, Natasha.... All those unknown... Chemo, radio... Before we even get better from the surgery, we have this huge wall in front of us... Only thing I can say is, you are not alone. Let's take a baby step at a time. ;-)
- DeanneMemberEverything is quite sore at first but I found that after that first week or two it was more a tight stiffness that was an uncomfortable feeling. Even though it is uncomfortable it really helps if you can do the stretches for your arm and chest. I also found a physio and had several visits with her for a couple of months. Like Robyn suggests you will probably not have to worry too much about the underarm hair with chemo to come. I sent my husband off to buy a ladies electric shaver but 2 weeks into chemo it was all gone! I also had radiotherapy after chemo and the underarm hair has not regrown where the radio was given under that arm. I would also recommend the moo goo udder cream for radio. If you have chemo first then your skin will be well and truly healed before radio. I used moo goo products during chemo (it can really dry your skin out) so that my skin was in fairly good condition at the start of radio. I had very little skin reaction until the last couple of sessions. Just look at each part step by step. You will find lots of terrific advice on here to help you through. Take care. Deanne xxx

Why not use a lady shaver. I would think they give you a month before radiation as you need to be able to raise your arm above your head. Chemo of course will sort your hair out . I had chemo first then bi lateral mastectomy and a month later 6 weeks of radiation. Moo Moo udder cream is excellent and I did not burn. Take one day at a time. My arm pit is still numb and I had the op in July. It takes time lovely. Best of luck and Merry Christmas
