Everything is quite sore at first but I found that after that first week or two it was more a tight stiffness that was an uncomfortable feeling. Even though it is uncomfortable it really helps if you can do the stretches for your arm and chest. I also found a physio and had several visits with her for a couple of months.
Like Robyn suggests you will probably not have to worry too much about the underarm hair with chemo to come. I sent my husband off to buy a ladies electric shaver but 2 weeks into chemo it was all gone! I also had radiotherapy after chemo and the underarm hair has not regrown where the radio was given under that arm.
I would also recommend the moo goo udder cream for radio. If you have chemo first then your skin will be well and truly healed before radio. I used moo goo products during chemo (it can really dry your skin out) so that my skin was in fairly good condition at the start of radio. I had very little skin reaction until the last couple of sessions. Just look at each part step by step. You will find lots of terrific advice on here to help you through.
Take care. Deanne xxx
