Anxious of MRI

Hi all,

I have to do an MRI tomorrow and feeling very anxious. I am not normally claustrophobic, but the last time I did an MRI was one day after my lumpectomy in late 2012 and I totally freaked out. But I know that I need to do the MRI tomorrow so that the doctors can determine whether the thing they found in my liver is actually cancer. Wish me luck!

  • I have them regularly as I have 2 cerebral anyrisams And I can totally understand you. They even lock my head into this weird head like cage so I cannot move it so greaky as hell...

I make sure to wear very comfortable clothing that is super loose as I found after a while if the necline rides up and oresses against my neck it makes me a bit edgy...

Also looking at the machine and how close it is to your face can freak you out so I keep my eyes closed the whole time. From the time I lie down on the table until they get me.out I do not open my eyes.

I know it may be a simplistic way to cope with that horrible machine but those 2 things have made it so much easier to tollerate it for me....

    Wishing you all the best

    Jel..

  • Good luck tomorrow, I had a mri recently and they give you a button if you are not coping,  I do understand that terrible feeling, I try and close my eyes and think of something nice.
