Angry

I am now stage 4. lots of appointments for this and that and then just cut the sucker out of my head. I am losing confidence in the people mangering my case as verbal feed back is not correct with a written report. I am just someone little in the big scheme of things but I can remember what is told to me over the phone and then bully for MY REPORT. It seems to me they don't like releasing something written about me. Insist and if you like become a steadfast bully until you get YOUR REPORT from latest test etc. Let's not forget I inisted on CT which brought on an MRI which is now stage four and in my head. I still feel lucky. go girls with your gut instinct.

  • Hello Sara 54

No wonder you are angry.  Love reading all the comments.  Can't get over your story, someone is on your side girl.  To have a CT scan that accidentally caught your head - only to find  something WOW.

I am not too sure of my onco, he has allways made me feel like theres not much hope.  Felt he was pessimistic, Not to good at explaining things etc.  My last visit with him was the best one yet 6mths post chemo, i said  I was starting to feel better, all my bloodwork was good he said. He seemed happy with me for the first time. Then I stuffed it all up by saying that the dizziness I had reported during radio was still there!!!  Brain Scan ordered.  Appt made for the Friday 28/11/14.  And then onco redeemed himself greatly by phoning me at 6.45pm Friday night to tell me that the scan was normal.  My eardrum may be damaged after chemo, he said something about an MRI but I wasn't really listening at that stage.

But it really makes you think - bloodwork he does is all that has been mentioned on this site, liver kidney and the cancer test.  And with all these fine He was still quick to jump in with the scan.  Do these tests pick up anything??  Knew they weren't good at picking up cancer in breast, but thought they were reliable for mets.

Anyhow thoughts are with you.  Go get 'em

  • Exactly how I feel. Just before my last surgery a few weeks ago (happened to be a knee replacement not BC related) A nurse was going through my paperwork with me & she stopped, looked at me & said  are you a nurse ?  I said no, why ? You certainly seem to have a good knowledge of everything related to your health. My reply to her was, I have learnt over the last three or four years that the only one the really really gives a damn about my overall health & whether something is going to affect another condition is ME, so I have made it my business to ask questions & get the answers. Yes, doctors sometimes aren't particularly happy when you start to question them, but I think I have the right to know if treating one condition is going to upset another. The same thing when I am in hospital & nurses bring tablets, I ask what they are & if they're not part of my regular medication I willl ask why I am having them, I have even been known to send painkillers back because I wasn't in pain, & sometimes they still try to get me to take them, I have to assure them I will ask for them if I need them. I take so many tablets already sometimes I am really over it.

I have to say my champion is my GP, I make sure all results go to her & she will print it out for me, not just say, all ok, or you need to go & see dr so & so.

Keep asking questions till you get answers, be it results, treatment, or medication.

  • I would be feeling pretty angry too Sarah,if I were you. Many times on here I have seen posts where ladies don't know exactly what they are facing, because they haven't been given a copy of their reports. Is it because some doctors think we ' wouldn't understand them'? Well the fact is,it's your body, your reports, and you are entitled to them.Stay in touch Sarah, because this blog is a GREAT place to let your feelings out,and receive the support you need through this next part of your treatment.I hope you have a better day today:) xxxRobyn
