Anastrozole (hormone blocker)

I've  been on anastrozole for about 3 years as I have hormone sensitive b/c  but lately I've started suffering with  awful aches n such ( to put it mildly) and weight gain, I'm on a diet ( the same one I used to lose 30kg ) so what is going on ?? can it affect me after all this time ?? oncologist has cut the dosage ( as of last week ) would like to hear your experiences with such issues .

  • There can be many side effects of AIs - aches & pains being probably the most common ..... I never really had any weight gain until the last 2 years with the Covid restrictions - when we were unable to get out as often as we like & do the normal exercise things that we could - so perhaps that has impacted you as well ..... I used to go out for HOURS at a time in my kayak - so the allowable 1hr exercise didn't really 'do it' for me - and I didn't get out at all & am now paying for it.

With a bit of luck, your change in dosage will make a difference .... if not, try & increase your exercise just a bit (one woman lost a HEAP of weight by just walking around her DECK until she was happy enough to go out walking in public .....)

    Good luck xx
