My oncologist and surgeon guided me on this. There's also a small amount of information on the BCNA website.
My only option was chemo drugs. After 3 sessions of AC, my lump was virtually untraceable . I also have the BRCA 1 gene, so was in the rare and difficult to treat category.
They gave me chemo before surgery to monitor the lump's response. Mastectomy was strongly suggested due to the BRCA gene. I also wanted to do everything possible to limit my chances of a reoccurrence.
