I was very interested to read your comments because I used to be the same trying to push through without pain killers, not anymore though, why live with pain when I don't have to is my motto and then I am not so grumpy either.
I went to a BCNA seminar last year and there was a onc psychologist there, she asked how many people refused pain killers and asked why? She said we sometimes marter ourselves. Not sure about that but since my journey began I am not the same person, I am now scared of needles and have been known cry at the thought of them.
Take care sending you much love.

Yes Karen you could be right, it could be good old Femara causing the nail issue.
Thank you for your wishes, I am used to fighting and continue to fight to get well and on top of everything every day. Not ready to lay down yet lol.

Hello Mich
Wow that is along time for things to be happening perhaps it could be the tablet we have to take for 5 years as that has lots of side effects also.
Best of wishes to you also on this journey after our treatments

Hey Karen
I finished chemo and then radiotherapy back in September 2012 would you believe. My nails went a bit manky but I never lost any.
I did all the right things to keep my hair and nail good and healthy taking supplements etc. so they could come back great.
My nails and hair are quite good, hair is much thinner that before I lost it all, my nails have ridges running long ways down all of them and one nail has decided to partly come away from the skin behind the nail so that is not a good look. I have been told it is not fungal caused and quite possibly from chemo mmmmmmmm 2 1/2 years later so shows how long chemo can stay in your system and do funny things to our body.
I also relate to ongoing pain and sometimes I just cant cope with it so have to turn to pain killers which ease the pain but make me so tired I cant do anything anyway. If I wake up and feel good that day I am just so very grateful to be alive. Exercise does help but doesn't take away the pain but makes you feel better in my experience.
Best of luck to you and all our pink sisters xoxoxo Mich xo

Sorry cannot spell but I met up with a emercency nurse today on a picnic with our grandi's. She explained my op on Tuesday but also said Sarah you have had 15months of sheer hell.....it was nice for someone to remind me that it's been going on for so long starting of course with my broken arm. I have become very accepting of the daily toll sometimes and eventually end up back on pain killers as I find now I have no tolerance for pain on going where as in the past I just put up with. It zaps your energy and spirit. I am a different person on pain killers, positive and looking forward to the future. Drained by pain I become a weak crying mess who cannot move a fork from table to sink as it's just too hard. Pain mangerment is very important and listern to the pros. Have a lovely weekend pink sisters
