Adventure Mk II

Well were to begin - or end...... I have gotten through 4 TC chemo's thanks to my friends and sister. My body didn't handle it well but now over and recovering from it. Waiting for hair to grow back, taste to return, numb tingly fingers and toes to stop and then can turn my back on chemo. Arm movement is improving from mastectomy. Going to start Tai Chi and Dragon Boating soon. So hopefully this will help both physically and mentally. Looking forward to both. Next big adventures include starting Tamoxifen and working out when to return to work - it is tricky as I don't have a supportive boss. Best news though is my close friend has been checked and is all clear. I guess the more my life returns to 'normal' I can try and put this to the back of my mind. And see what new adventures await me. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
  • Glad to hear you have made it through your chemo, it's a tough gig. I finished in March and it's taken quite a while but I am gradually finding my 'new normal'. Some of the effects have hung around longer that I anticipated. It's a strange time - when treatment is finished. Not as many appointments etc. It's also tough picking the right time to return to work and waiting for hair to grow back. I have started my hormone tablets (armidrex), haven't had too many problems up to this point. Wishing you well in your recovery and hope things just keep getting better for you, take care,

    Hazel xx

  • Thanks ladies as usual the support here is always mind blowing. Good luck and enjoy your trip. I'm looking forward to my dragon boating. Have friends in all the different teams so the challenge is already out there.
