Chemo is horrible, at least some days are, some, surprisingly, are not so bad. It ends eventually. You are stronger than you realise. You will make it through. You won't enjoy most of it. It's worth it. After a few rounds you get a bit used to it. I think the first is the hardest because you haven't done it before, at least it was for me. Counselling can help, just to be able to talk about it to someone who won't get upset so you don't have to be brave. Families want to help but are new to this too. I once said to my adult daughter, chemo is harder than it looks and she said it looks pretty hard. It made me realise how they can see our suffering.
Also, take every bit of medication you are offered. Make sure you tell your oncologist you are suffering. Don't be so brave you dont get medicated enough.
